Simple Galentine’s Day Tablescape (2024)

I needed to create a simple Galentine’s Day tablescape this year.

Why?

Because I’m a little behind on everything and didn’t have much time to plan, shop and create an elaborate one. You get it ~ don’t you?

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about having a romantic dinner with a special someone anymore. It’s also a great reason to bring your closest girlfriends together and show how much you appreciate them in your life.

Hence Galentine’s Day.

(I probably like Galentine’s Day more than Valentine’s Day.)

Even though I didn’t have much spare time, I still wanted to impress my favorite girls with an attractive table. So I “shopped my house” and pulled items to create my simple table setting for Galentine’s Day.

Then I whipped up two quick diys (seriously – whipped them out in minutes), and my quick and easy Galentine’s Day table decor was ready.

This tablescape is super simple to create, especially if you need to throw a Galentine’s Day party together with little time to plan.

I’ll walk you through it…

How to Create Your Simple Galentine’s Day Tablescape

Step 1: Set your Galentines’ Day table foundation

When creating your Galentine’s Day tablescape, first decide on your color scheme. If you are putting one together last minute, consider the colors you use most around your home.

I chose to create a red, white and pink table setting for Galentine’s Day.

The foundation is the base for your tablescape. Will you be using a tablecloth, a table runner, placemats, or nothing?

I was already planning to use my red table runner for my Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband, so I decided it would do double duty for both tablescapes.

That also meant that I could leave it on the table. Yay!

Step 2: Create the centerpiece for your simple Galentine’s Day table setting

Once you have decided on the tablescape’s foundation, the next step is to create your Galentine’s Day centerpiece.

I decided to create a simple centerpiece, using items I already had or could make really fast.

I started with a pink and white vase that was given to me. (To be honest, I’ve been holding onto the vase with plans to change it, but it was perfect for this table setting.)

Then I placed the snow-covered branches I had diy’d last month for my Winter Wonderland tablescape in the vase.

Yay ~ reusing a diy project!!!

Next, I made soft pink fleece love notes to hang from the tree. They seriously took me minutes to make ~ super simple diy!

Aren’t they too cute??!!

Then to complete my Galentine’s Day simple centerpiece, I added candles. Candles add softness and make the tablescape feel intimate, don’t you think?

I used light pink votive candle holders that I had found at a garage sale months ago, along with two pink and white pillar candles that are on candleholders from Dollar Tree.

I didn’t spend a dime on the centerpiece and it was super easy to do.

Step 3: Layout the Galentine’s Day place setting

Think about the food you will be serving for your Galentine’s Day meal. Will there be multiple courses or a buffet?

Then set your place settings accordingly.

I started with a red charger as my base, as it would coordinate well with my red table runner. I found them at Dollar Tree a while back.

Then I added my white dinner plates, silverware, and light pink water goblets.

If I was having a buffet, I would have stopped here with my Galentine’s Day place setting.

But I will be serving salad before the main course, so I added red salad bowls and salad forks to my place setting.

To dress up my table setting, I used simple silver napkin rings and slipped them over white napkins. Then I place them over the red salad bowl.

So simple, and so pretty!

To complete the place settings, I added a cute pink and brown Cupid’s arrow to the top of the napkin ring. I had made red and black ones for my husband and me, for my romantic Valentine’s Day table, so it was really easy to make these too.

Plus, it’s a little something that my girlfriends can bring home with them to remember the Galentine’s Day gathering and the fun time we had with each other.

Step 4: Any extras to complete the tablescape for Galentine’s Day

Sometimes when you have completed the centerpiece and place settings, you step back and feel that something’s missing. That it needs a little more.

That’s how I felt when I created this simple Galentine’s Day tablescape.

I had arranged the centerpiece and laid out the place settings, but it needed something. (Unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures at this point to show you.) It felt ~ lacking.

I had pink fleece and fabric left over from my two diy projects. I cut out a few pink hearts and placed them on the table runner.

Yep, that did the trick!

Just adding those small pink hearts pulled the whole red, pink and white tablescape together. I know that my friends will love this sweet Galentine’s Day table setting.
